Andersen Ensemble

Anne-Mette Wrangel - Soprano, Sabrina Hummel - Piano and Rolf Birkholz - actor, have taken the exciting challenge to display Andersen's extensive literary treasures. And they do so using a lively, entertaining and unique mixture of literary esprit and musical sensitivity.

A special music experience awaits you: poems placed within a music background or recitals of fairy tales and stories interlaced with lively anecdotes -and often unknown views- from Andersen's life make for a lively and enjoyable concert form.

Inspired by the extensive works of the well know danish poet, born in 1805, the ensemble has put together an entertaining yet reflective program, from the beginning to the end. Pains are taken to display each of the many facets of his prose.

The performances are arranged to fit the occasion, and are as diverse. Each can last from 45 up to 120 minutes, in German or in English. Song or a recitation, each accompanied by the piano, are possible.

The breath of the repertoire allows performances to be integrated into almost any occasion, at any time of the year: a summer evening with refreshing melodies, a Scandinavian voyage, or a warm Christmas recital. For each event a programme can be created and tastefully realized.
